Northwood raises $375M Series C co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and DFJ Growth

Northwood, a Torrance, Calif. company building a shared ground network that connects satellites to Earth, announced on 2 November that it closed a $375 million Series C round, co-led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and DFJ Growth, according to the company's release. Washington Harbour Partners, which led the Series B, also took part, along with Alpine Space Ventures, Stepstone and In-Q-Tel. A separate credit facility from HSBC Innovation Banking will also support the company.

Northwood says it has deployed six multi-orbit-capable sites on two continents since its Series B, has more than 140 employees and plans to add 400 jobs over three years. These are the company's own claims.
